The Journal of cooperative and Business Studies (JCBS) is one of the bi-annual journals of the Moshi Cooperative University (MoCU) publishing articles in the area of co-operative development and business management. The articles include research works, book reviews, book chapters, article reviews, and case studies. Publishable articles focus on the co-operative theory, practical experiences, and policy issues related to cooperative development and business management.  It is a peer-reviewed journal with a special focus on the associative economy of economically active low-income producers, distributors, and consumers.

The Journal of Co-operative and Business Studies (JCBS) provides a platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to impart and share knowledge in the form of quality empirical and theoretical research papers, case studies, reviews, and book reviews in the cooperative and business fields. The editorial team of JCBS commits to publishing high-quality articles providing in-depth analysis of concepts, ideas and new theories relevant to co-operative development.

JCBS welcomes the submission of manuscripts focusing on the co-operative sector (producers, distributors, consumers, housing, workers, agricultural activities, savings and credit undertakings, co-operative and micro-insurance, fishing, mining, and other firms) and other sectors within the “associative and solidarity economy” including mutual businesses, community development, microfinance, housing societies, community businesses, and member-based organisations. Accepted manuscripts will be published in the forthcoming issue (Vol.8 Issue 2, 2024).

Manuscripts should be submitted to the Chief Editor through the Journal submission system: https://journals.mocu.ac.tz/index.php/jcbs. The deadline for submission is 15th September 2024. Submission guidelines are available in the journal submission system.
